Commando Technical Tips


The most common cause of bad handling on the Commando is a worn swinging arm pivot. Either worn bushes, worn pin or the pin loose in the engine plates. Worn bushes and/or pin have a simple remedy - buy new ones. Then try to keep them oiled (not grease remember).
If the pin is loose in the engine plates then you can buy oversize pins but you have to strip the bike and have the engine plates machined. There is a simpler remedy by copying the design of the Mk3 850 :
